A warm and cozy home that embraces us, where family and friends always feel at ease. Increasingly, this feeling is being pursued through interior design and decoration, as evidenced by multiple Instagram posts with tags like “#cozy” or “#cozyhome“. This is also credited to the rise of trends such as Cottage Core (which focuses on cabin-like decor), Granny Chic (which is based on the typical ‘grandma’s house’ decor) or Coastal Grandma (which tries to recreate that same type of interior, but alluding to coastal homes).

In order to achieve this ’embrace’, it is a good idea to team up with dining chairs upholstered in bouclé wool, that ‘sheepskin’ type textile that we keep seeing in the most fashionable houses of the season.

First, it was the great names of French high decoration, such as Pierre Yovanovitch and Pierre Augustin Rose, who began to use it in their projects, both signing armchairs for the exclusive The Invisible Collection. The reason for this boom is associated with the preponderance of natural materials and their imperfect finishes, also closely linked to the rise of craftsmanship.

Soon, however, we found dining chairs with a visually similar coverage at much more affordable prices, such as the Brando model. Contemporary in style, with a tubular steel frame and a black powder-coated finish, this seat and backrest have a bouclé-style upholstery available in several colors.

Another example of a dining chair that is even more welcoming thanks to its rounded Bold shapes, which seem to surround the diner, is Amets. Undoubtedly, its extraordinary comfort makes it perfect to enjoy pleasant evenings and long after-dinner meals in the best company.

Similar, but with a more sober and sophisticated silhouette, is the Petunia dining chair. Upholstered in bouclé wool in our Seville factory, this customizable color seat also features a tubular steel frame finished in black powder coat paint.

Mid Century style and modern dining chairs for a trendy ‘vintage’ touch

Little by little, it looks like this season we’ll be saying goodbye to warm, sinuous minimalism in favor of increasingly eclectic, maximalist spaces. “Vintage maximalism, with lots of color, warmth, antiques and eclectic touches, is about to be huge. I think in the age of social media (which seems to have peaked?) we all yearn to put our own stamp on interiors. We start looking for unknown and nameless pieces to make our personal spaces stand out from the crowd,” Tali Roth, an interior designer, explained back in 2020 to Architectural Digest magazine in its U.S. edition.

As a result, interiors are going up with charismatic pieces with echoes of the past, such as Mid Century-style dining chairs.  This ‘mid-century’ trend, although it had its heyday during the 1950s, is characterized by the rejection of historical forms and the creation of new ones based on the rational analysis of human needs.

The wonderful thing is that, like any really good product, the most outstanding pieces from that period are timeless, and, in most cases, their pure, simple and elegant lines, functionality and lack of ornamentation make them a natural fit in any environment, whatever the style.

Among these stylish dining chairs, we find some upholstered ones, such as Dames, which brings that longed-for extra warmth we were talking about before. It is available in trendy colors such as terracotta (absolutely trendy this season), curry, petrol blue and gray.

Bayton is another of those dining chairs that are hard to forget. In addition to its seat upholstered in textile in various shades to choose from (sand, curry, maroon, taupe, green and, of course, terracotta), there is another very 2023 detail: its wooden backrest and natural rattan cannage-type mesh.

The detailed and natural look of this nineteenth-century-style braid blends perfectly with fashionable interiors, and it is also light and breathable, cool and pleasant.

The Cavaleto dining chair is also a classic revisited thanks to its rounded yet simple and light forms. Its seat and back are upholstered in a choice of pink, petrol blue, rust or curry fabric.

Rope, a material for modern dining chairs: pure Mediterranean style

We already warned some time ago: the Mediterranean is a style that will reign in 2023 with the calm and simplicity that are characteristic of it, without stridency, but with a forcefulness based on those materials that we have already seen that do not cease to rise: stone, marble, clay, wood, plant fibers ….

In fact, at the heart of the Mediterranean aesthetic is a sense of ‘handmade‘ that celebrates the unhurried nature of craftsmanship, the imperfections and authenticity visible in the materials, which puts in value the local.

Within this section, natural braided rope dining chairs, such as Caprese, stand out. With its summery and delicate style, this indoor seating is perfect for dressing lime-covered spaces, with clay floors, fiber rugs, terracotta pots... In other words, those environments that are a real must this year.

If you prefer to transfer this style to your outdoor area, however, it is better to go for dining chairs made of polyester rope. This type of fabric is protected against UV rays, is extremely strong and resistant, does not stretch and dries very quickly, as it does not absorb water. And speaking of water: its maintenance requires only a little water and neutral soap.
