Frankie’s Burger Bar restaurant has opened in the center of Valencia.

The graphic design and interior design project was born from the collaboration between two Valencian studios such as Creatias Estudio with Carlos Sanchez in charge of the design of the entire graphic universe and Samaruc Estudio, formed by Pablo Perez and Fran Sabater as interior designers, facing as a team the order of two Valencian restaurateurs with extensive experience in the sector.

Frankie’s Burger Bar restaurant has opened in downtown Valencia an energetic and bold space that accompanies the diner in a tasty dining experience.

In the words of the designers, “we started from the idea that our clients had of implementing a restaurant in the city that would follow the history and typology of the Dutch and Central European “Burger Bar”. They were looking for an informal, contemporary, playful and attractive place that would match the high quality of the product and the food they produce, difficult to forget, and that would undoubtedly invite you to come back”.

With these ideas on the table, the project aims to reinforce the user experience, which would start with the possibility of creating their own burger, being able to choose every part, from the bun to the sauce. This interaction between client and kitchen staff designing the menu is reflected in a vibrant project, rich in materials and contrasts, with a careful warm lighting with a certain retro air.

In the words of Carlos Sánchez of Creatias Estudio, “the concept for the brand identity transforms the naming into those incandescent lines of the grill, when the hamburger is on the fire, which treated with different perspectives generate a three-dimensional optical illusion that is taken to all online and offline applications, such as clothing, packaging, letters, web, etc., and of course to the surrounding graphics such as posters and signage, running and wrapping the space on the floor, walls and ceiling, appealing to the diner with direct messages”.

The color palette of the interior design is based on the graphic project, where red is the hard core of the idea, which is reflected in the kitchen, the heart of the project and the center of attention of the premises. A completely open kitchen integrated in the first room, with a large internal work bar that also serves to provide service and customer service, a show in itself.
In the words of Samaruc Estudio, “the peculiarity of the premises in terms of its distribution and the division of the room into two spaces, served as an excuse to create differentiated environments, where color, lighting and graphic resources achieve a changing environment. In addition, the materials used are related to the classic iconography of a gastronomic space dedicated to premium hamburgers”.

The large-format pavement in cement gray and graphite unifies and becomes the neutral base on which to start the project. The bar, counter-bar and kitchen are clad with 10×10 square tiles in black, cream and bright burgundy red, they are the heart of the premises.

Tables of various formats in black, bleached oak and couture wood reinforce the warmth and comfort sought, contrasting with each other and visually enriching the whole. Chairs in three models inspired by the 30s and 50s combine the wood and colors they share with the tables, introducing tobacco-colored leather upholstery, which is repeated in the two large benches in both rooms.

A galvanized corrugated iron frieze runs along the entire lower part of the store, topped with a couture wood plywood top with indirect lighting. With all the ducts and installations visible, the ceiling is painted in an intense and saturated matte burgundy red, enveloping all the spaces of the premises and reinforcing its brand identity.

Black metal structures with printed glass enclosures in different textures give a glimpse of what’s going on in the workspaces they enclose. Multiple elements of shiny or aged brass are scattered around the bar and the showcase as a support for the menu, as well as in wall and ceiling lights.

Finally, the toilet rooms have large wall and ceiling panels covered with translucent cellular polycarbonate backlit in bright red, in order to surprise and reinforce the playful side of gastronomic leisure.

The location of Frankie’s Burger Bar in the first floor of a historic building in downtown Valencia in front of the Olympia Theater, makes this restaurant an even more attractive project thanks to the magnificent architectural and urban environment.

The result of this combination of elements manages to accompany the customer’s experience, reinforcing the personality of the kitchen in a gastronomic space dedicated to meat, fire and above all, flavor.
