El Galeón, a VAO Architects’ project at the bottom of the ocean

Ordering, locating and redesigning all the information that an establishment has acquired in its thirty years of history.

The main objective of Sandra Orozco and Miguel Ángel Jiménez, responsible for the project, was to organize, locate and redesign all the information that an establishment has acquired in its thirty years of history.

The choice of materials has been transcendental to identify the identity of this establishment, different wood finishes give us the image of a sunken ship. The application of coatings with reflections and texture together with the treated lighting introduce us at times to the bottom of the ocean.

It is emphasized by decorative elements trying to make an abstraction of the elements associated with the world of navigation as can be seen in the use of wire mesh as a fishing net.
