An elegant and sophisticated space, but at the same time casual and rogue.

The story of “La Encantada”, the latest hotel establishment to land on San Ildefonso street in Alicante, designed and carried out by the Florida Portazgo Interior Design Studio, is that of a transformation: that of a metamorphosis that has allowed the conversion of a former ceremonial clothing store into a signature cocktail bar that also offers international fusion cuisine.

An elegant and sophisticated space, but at the same time casual and rogue. We were told that the gastronomic offer had to be integrated with the decoration, and the term “FUSION” had to be very present. These were the first concepts to begin to elaborate the design process.

From the interior design studio Florida Portazgo they tell us how it was and the spaces they have designed:

“Visual impact was our motto for the façade. We needed a different, daring and charming resource. Thanks to the collaboration of Arquicostura Studio, we have achieved a facade that does not go unnoticed and fits perfectly with the environment and interior decoration. It is a beautiful construction of more than 120 years old that continues to flourish with the passage of time.

Once inside we have a reduced and maximized room, where every corner plays an important role. The central bar is fully connected and that makes it a constant spectacle for all the senses. On this same floor there is a more informal area with stools and high tables to enjoy a good cocktail.

We access the upper floor, a more private and comfortable space. Three large domes of bangs at different heights descend from the ceiling in a sculptural way covering part of the large space. The original architecture should not be lost, so we decided to leave completely visible all those elements that already made the room unique: wooden beams, stone walls, hydraulic floors and woodwork. At the same time, we introduced new materials that had to blend in with the environment such as: ceramic tiles, baseboards and paneling in oak wood, marble for the table tops, velvets for the seats and silk cords for the floral murals. Overall, the following stand out: the textures of the materials, the indirect lighting, the depth and the details.”

In terms of style, you will find an architecturally industrial space with a vintage feel and influences from the 1920s.
